Pablo Neruda's home in Isla Negra

Pablo Neruda is one of two separate Chilean poets who have received the Nobel price of Literature. The other laureate is Gabriela Mistral. Pablo Neruda was an Chilean Embassador to several countries throughout his career. He died in 1973.

This is the view of the Pacific Ocean from the restaurant adjacent to the home.
This is another view. He actually had three homes: one in Valparaiso, one in Santiago near the Cerro Santa Lucia, and this home in Isla Negra.
This is the restaurant. Sherri, Reggie and Aubri had lunch there. The sandwich bread was homemade and they tell me it was very, very good. I passed on that meal.

Sherri was freezing that day. It was very cold. We had taken a taxi from Vina to Isla Negra and it was $70. I'll never forget the haggling between taxi drivers who were competing to give us the lowest price for the ride. Believe it or not, the first price we were offered was $200 for a 1 hour ride (one way).
